Netball

On Tuesday the 7th of June it was a warm but breezy day and my netball team Flavaz had a netball game against Parnell. There was no school on  Tuesday for Pt England school because it was teacher only day but us netball girls still had training and our netball games. As I got to school late for training I could see everyone training and some other girls getting changed into their uniforms. I was late because I had to go to the hospital because my older sister got injured from rugby. I ran straight to my coach Ms Eddie to apologize for being late and to get my uniform on to start my netball training session. Once I finished putting my uniform on along with some other girls we finally started our training. One of our shooters weren’t here because she was sick but luckily we had a backup shooter which was liz and the other shooter was Ashley. While the other girls and I train Liz and Ashley practise shooting. Once our training was over we played a half court game of netball so see how good our shooters were and it turns out they were pretty good. Time went by and off we were to the netball courts feeling nervous but excited and the same time.

Once the clock hit 4:15 it was time for our game to start and just by looking at the height of the other team my netball team started to give up already. On the first quarter of our game the other team had the ball and they only had 3 to 4 passes and the ball went straight in the goal but because I was GK I felt like I was letting my team down because I didn’t stop the ball from getting in the hoop. The first quarter was over and so far the other team was winning but after having a group huddle Ms Eddie gave us a pep talk and tried to make us work as a team by communicating like the other team and to do our best. Our break time was over and off we were to our passions. Our team started to improve with our passing and our catching and we started to work and play as a team again. Everytime the ball comes to my partner I tried my very best to jump and pass or through the ball as far away from the hoop as I can.  Once the last 2 quarters were over we lost our netball game but I felt proud of my team for working together and trying our best. After our game of netball us girls walked to the bathroom so exhausted and once I finished getting change Ms Eddie told me that I got player of the day because of my awesome defending skills and I felt so proud of myself and I felt proud of the rest of my team as well.
