2015 Reflection

Hi, This is my blog post about my reflection about 2015, I feel so happy that I came to Pt England school and what I feel about being a year 7 is awesome because I am a future year 8 and I have had so much fun with team 5 and going on so many trips. What I didn't like about this year was getting in trouble. What I found difficult about this year was solving some of my maths problems and finding the answers and I found it difficult to finish my work on time. If I could grade myself for being awesome from 10-10 I would chose 8-10 because I have been awesome a lot but sometimes I get in trouble but I do finish my work in time. The fundraisers that we did this year was cake stalls to help netball girls pay their fees, we had a garage sale for the year 8 camp and we did lots of other fundraisers. For 2016 What I would change about myself is participating  in more sports and other stuff for next year because it will be my last year at Pt England school.For next year I want my teacher to know how smart I am and how I solve my problems. For next year I would want more help with my maths. I would show my teachers how I work things out.

Manaiakalani Film Festival.

On Wednesday the 11th of November it was the Manaiakalani film festival.When the year 7 & 8’s from Pt England school arrived at Sylvia Park we were all so excited to watch the amazing movies from Pt England school and from Ruapotaka school. My favourite film was room 1 from Pt England school and their movie was about say something kind and think about what you say before you say it. My second favourite movie was Ant boy and it was about people killing ants and one person turned into an ant. My third favourite movie was room 3 and their movie was about being in the right place right time right attitude.

What I liked about the other movies were that it had a great meaning like keep your germs to yourself, listen to other people’s side of the story before you put them in jail and make most of your time being young. Once we finished watching all the Manaiakalani movies we went outside and saw our teacher Mrs Moala and her baby and it was good to see her again. Then finally we were off to school to enjoy the rest of school while some people stayed at Sylvia Park to present in front of other schools.

Athletics

On the 13th of October it was athletics day for Pt England school. Pt England school had 4 different teams and they aren Hinemoana, Hokule’a, Te Aurere, and Hikianalia.

My favourite activity from athletics was the relays because my team worked really well together and we helped each other and cheered for each other as we went. The activity I found challenging was the sprints and the tagger war.I found tagger war hard easy in the first 2 rounds but when we versed Hikianalia and Te Aurere they were really hard to beat because they we strong and they worked together as a team to win.

Finally after all that running and doing the activities it was lunch time and we finally had some rest and had something to eat. As soon as the bell rang it was time to go back to have some more fun at athletics.It was time to do high jump and I really enjoyed high jump because all we did was have fun while jumping on the mat and enjoying athletics while we can.

When athletics was over I couldn’t stop thinking about how much fun everyone had. What I enjoyed about athletics was working as a team with the year 7 girls, participating in the activities, I also enjoy myself and I enjoyed having fun at athletics and I enjoy being a year 7.

Coming up

My group and I got a journal each so we can pick a story in the journal and answer these questions about the story on the presentation. I chose this story because the title sound interesting. Rainbow's End !!!!

On Friday the 20th of November it was the best day ever for the year 7's at Pt England school. If you are wondering why it was the best day ever it was because the year 7's at Pt England school 2015 we had a year 7 trip to Rainbow's End. As soon as we got to Rainbows End we had to wait to get our Rainbows End ticket. Once everyone got their ticket we ran through the gates and the first ride that my group and I went on was the stratosphere. My group and I were up next to go on the stratosphere and I was so scared to go on it because it was my first time on it. As soon as I got on the ride I was so nervous and I saw Mrs Tele'a coming my way with her camera and that made me even more nervous. Mrs Tele'a saw me and Mahana on the ride and she told us to just breath and relax and as soon as I was getting calm the ride started and I couldn't stop freaking out. I couldn't stop screaming when the ride went up and down and round and round I was getting dizzy all ready and all I could was Mrs Tele'a and Mr Wisemen just laughing at me. Finally the ride was over and my guts told me to not go on it again but my heart tell me yay lets do that again so I went back on the ride 3 more times then I went to explore the other rides.

The next ride I went on was the fear fall and I have been on that ride lots of times but this time when the ride was over I think that is the scariest ride. After going on these rides it was time for morning tea and it was time to a have a break from all those rides. As soon as I finished eating me and Mahana went on the roller coaster and all we did was scream loud as because we were at the back and the people in front of us were just laughing at us. As we were on the roller coast we shouting Mr Wisemen how many times and he finally saw us when the ride was over. So Mahana and I went to catch up with the rest of our group and this time we had to stick together. Our group had to vote on 2 rides that we had to go on together and the votes were Invader and Stratosphere. The first ride we went on was the Invader because we wanted to save the best for last. Once the ride was over we ran to the stratosphere and waited in line. We were next in line and more and more Pt England kids just jumped over the fence and went on the stratosphere with us and once the ride was over we all ran as fast as we can because we only had a few minutes to do the roll call and get on the bus. Finally we made it just in time and off we went to school. The year 7's went to the field and had a break from Rainbow's End.

The secret underground

Kia Ora, This is my blog post about The secret underground. This presentation has facts about animals that live in different habitats. I hope when you read this presentation you will learn something about these creatures  

A time when losing something.

First, at the beginning of the year I got my new uniform along with my new school hat. On the first day of school it was really sunny so I had to wear my hat if I wanted to play outside in the sun. A few weeks later I lost my hat and I tried to look for it but it was lost and I gave up looking for it.

The season went past and it was winter so I didn’t need my hat anymore. When I lost my hat I felt disappointed because my mum might waste her money on buying me a new hat.

It’s finally term 4 and it’s nearly summer. We had an Immersion Assembly and that is when the teachers mentioned bringing our hats back to school. I tried looking for my hat again at school and I finally found my hat it was in our green room. I found my hat in a big pile of clothes in the green room so now and am happy that I found my hat because now I can play out in the sun.

Now that I found my new hat I will try my best to look after it and try to find a safe place to put it.

Bee Poster

Hello, This is my Honey bee poster. This poster has facts about bees and what I really enjoyed about doing this poster is learning about what bees can do. What I learned about bees is that as soon as they are born they work straight away. I hope when you read these facts about bees you would learn some things you didn't know about bees.

First day of school recount

On the very first day of school I walked into the school hall and sat down with the rest of the seniors.I was so nervous because I didn't know anyone and because it was the first day of school. I could see all the students with smiles on their faces because they were so happy to see their friends. Once Mr Burt finished talking he sent all the students to go to their classes.

Finally we made it to the senior block and all the year 7 & 8 students sat down while the teachers introduced themselves and told us something about them. Once the teachers finished talking they called off our names to go to our class rooms but I had to go to room 3 so Mrs Tele'a can tell me what class room I need to go to. Once I walked into room 3 Mrs Tele'a started asking me questions but I was to nervous to talk.She told me that I had to go to Mrs Moala's class.

When I walked into Mrs Moala's class I was scared cause Mrs Moala told me to go up and tell everyone my name and she said my name wrong and I told the class room what my old school was. 

Finally school was almost finish and I was so happy because I got to know lots of kids and I was happy to be their friends.

If you watch this video this video has lots of steps that you could follow. When I started making my logo it was hard and from reading these instructions I now know how to make my own personal logo and what to change.So I hope when you watch this you will know how to make a personal logo and what a personal logo is.

Personal Logos

Intro: A personal logo is a logo that represents someone, their culture and is designed by themselves.

First, brainstorm ideas that would look cool on a logo. If no ideas come up then choose your favourite things.

Secondly, once you've found  some ideas draw them on a piece of paper and draw them as a thumbnail concept.A thumbnail concept is a drawing which is the same size as your thumbnail. Thirdly, use 2 of the best drawings and put them on Hyperstudio to trace.Be as neat as possible.

Lastly, Once the logos have been finished and drawn on Hyperstudio you print it. The reason why you need to print it is to see how it looks on paper and to see if there should be any changes.

Conclusion: If the logo doesn't need any changes then think of what that logo could be used for like it could be used for T-shirts, mugs or campaigning.

Cross Country

First the year 1's went to run and the year 7's were getting ready to run after the year 5's.Us girls we worming up, cheering for the younger kids. I was so nervous. When it was the year 5's to run it made me even more and more nervous.

After the year 5's ran it was time for the year 7 girls.I was so nervous to run but before we ran Mr Burt gathered all the year 7 girls and he told us when and what to do.As soon as Mr Burt said on your marks get set and he clapped the 2 woods together and all the girls ran their hardest.

As we were running I could hear people cheering and shouting peoples names and that made us girls happy and encouraging us to run faster. As soon as I ran past the black gates I was so tiered but I didn't stop I was power walking along with the other girls.

Finally I was up to my second lap and I was so happy because it was nearly over. I was running with some girls and we were trying our best and pacing ourselves too.But as I was running all I could think about is stopping but the girls I was running with reminded me about the korero which was champions never give up and that made us run faster.

Finally, I was running towards the finish line and as soon as it was over I went to drink some water and that made me feel so happy that it was over and I felt so proud.So when I was cooled down I started cheering for the rest of the girls and boys who were still running.

Explanation Writing
