2016 Hightlights

For term 1 my highlight was the first day of school because I got to know the year 7’s and even got to know most of the year 8’s at year 8 camp. My highlight from term 1 was year 8 camp because I got to know most of the year 8’s and I just enjoyed working as a team with everyone.

My highlight from term 4 was Parakai because the year 7 and 8’s got to spend more time there before the year 8’s leave for college. I loved going to parakai because it gave us year 8’s to have one last opportunity to have fun and make the most of it with everyone.

My highlight of the year was being at Pt England School for one last year. I have a lot of highlights from this year but my favourite was just being a student of Pt England School.

Senior Prize giving

Last week on Thursday the year 5's - 8's had their senior prize giving. I really enjoyed Prize giving because this was my last year at Pt England school. I was really proud of everyone on Thursday night because everyone gave it their all and supported each other while performing. What I was really looking forward to was who the prefects and house captains would be for next year. I was really proud of who the new prefects and house captains are because I believe they can take care of the school while we're gone and I know they are perfect for the job because they can handle all this responsibility and i'm just really proud of them.

No more bullies and take charge poster

Our task for literacy was to find a partner and create a poster about problems around the world and how we can solve it. Me and my partner Jessica decided to do no more bullies because bullies are everywhere and they need to stop. We also decided to do take charge because everyone needs to take charge and focus.

Rewriting instructions

Task: This was my task for my literacy class. On the left hand side they are examples of clear, simple steps about instructions. But on the right side I just made a few changes to add in.
Pick up an egg, gently hit it against the side of a bowl and empty the contents into a clean bowl.

When player One had rolled the dice, they should hand it to player Two, who should then roll it too. The person with the highest score moves their counter first.
After the first player rolls the dice they should hand it over to the second player to roll. How ever you keep playing the game until there is a winner which will be the person with the most points.
If you want to turn on the computer, look for the round, lack power button and press it once.
If you are wanting to turn on your computer, you look at the back of the device and look for the round button. You then press the button once and you wait for it to turn on.
Hold the handles of the scissors and cut along the dotted line, making sure you don’t hurt yourself.

Four Four's Challenge

Hello Bloggers, Our task for maths was to make this Four Four's Challenge. In this presentation it has a bit of a challenge in it. Firstly we had to get a dice and roll it 4 times and put the number in a box. Then we had to try add those numbers up and try reach it to the target. On the first slide my target was 12 and the numbers I got were 4, 7, 9, 5. If you look at the slide it will show my working out but, I did not quite reach 12, I got 11 which was close to the target. I really like this presentation because it was a cool warm up to get the day ready for maths.

Paula's Attitude Talk

Last week team 5 got a wonderful opportunity to get some good advice from a man name Paula. Paula came to visit team 5 to give us a attitude talk. He gave us some really good advice about life and how we can improve things in life like how to be a good friend, what to really trust, don't rely on things too much and much more. I really enjoyed listening to Paula because he said some meaningful things and gave us really good advice. The advice I would take from Paula is to how to be a good friend. He told us a story bout this guy who went to his mates house and slept over and had a little accident there. He peed on  the bed by accident and tried to run away but his mate was being a really good friend and helped him out to get rid of his accident. His mate kept his little secret for so long and the fact that he didn't tell anyone made him happy because he was a loyal friend. When Paula told us to be a good friend it's just the little things that make a friend happy and makes you a good friend. He also gave us a lot of good advice about different things which were helpful things. I would just like to thank Paula for the fantastic advice he gave us and thanks to him for giving us helpful ideas for the life we have and to make our future happy and bright.

Maths test

Hello bloggers, This term team 5 has been preparing for our upcoming events which was our tests. This morning team 5 had just completed their maths test. As team 5 were preparing for the test my class solved some equations before the test started so we can get pumped up and ready to start confidently. 3,2,1 press start came out of the teachers mouth and all I could hear were students typing non stop. I couldn't stop moving, I skipped a lot of slides because I didn't want to waste my time staying on the same page. I could feel my heart pumping and my nerves coming because I didn't really understand some of the questions. 5 more minutes to go and all I needed to do was cheek my answers. Once I have cheeked my answer I was happy with what I've done and I was finally finished. When the test was over I felt proud of myself and everyone else because even if we got it wrong at least we tried.

School Disco

Hey there Bloggers,
Today is the 22nd of September. This means today is the school disco YAY. I just got back from the school disco and had a blast so I just figured I have to write about it. The school disco was just awesome that I have no words to describe it. The disco was just for the years 5 - 8 and so far I think this was the best disco I have been too. I loved this years disco because no one was trying to be cool and sit in the corner just watching people. This disco was the best because almost everyone came, everyone was having fun, dance moves were spreading everywhere and I loved seeing smiles on peoples faces. My highlight of going to the disco was seeing everyone having a good time, watching dance battles and I also loved seeing people dragging people out of the chair to come and dance along with everyone else. I just wanted to thank Mrs Tele'a and Mr Jacobson for all the hard work they have done to make this possible for us and I would also like to thank all the teachers for supervising us kids when they could be doing something better like watching T.V or something else. Last but not least I would love to give a big huge thanks to the Prefects and House Captains for giving up their dance moves and helping out with the disco like being the D.J or helping out with the supervises. Thank you so much for making this possible.

Experiencing Tamaki College

Today the year 8’s of Pt England school went to visit Tamaki College for the whole day. If you are thinking why we stayed at Tamaki College for the whole day then keep reading and you will find out. The reason why the year 8’s went to Tamaki College was to experience the life of being in College. I enjoyed my day at Tamaki College because now I know that College isn’t that hard and boring because I know exactly what to do and i’m almost prepared for college. The year 8’s got spilt into 3 groups and were off to our classes. The first class my group went to was Te Reo Maori which was pretty cool because they gave me and my group some tips with learning Te Reo Maori and some tips of what to say  when we do our Mihi. Next up was Maths with Mrs Tuitupou. I found Mrs Tuitupou’s  class interesting  because she taught us things we already knew but in a interesting way and a better way to solve our problems and equations. Mrs Tuitupou’s class gave me some tips on maths and I liked her because she didn’t go soft on us because we are year 8’s she treated us like how she treats everyone and that just made me get prepared for College. Maths was over but luckily it was time for morning tea and we got to go around the whole school and me and Liz U just stucked together and went around the whole school like going to the field going up stairs while everyone was just staying in one place. Morning tea was over and it was time for us to get into our Tech classes which was pretty cool because i’m in cooking and we got to make burgers which was delicious. My partner was Finau and we were delayed and we rushed everything but in the end our burgers were the best and they were so taster and massive. The lunch bell rang and we had to head off back into the hall and get our lunch which was water, Subway, bars and the fruit watches. Again me and Liz U went roaming around the whole school again and caught up with some people who used to come to PES and went upstairs to start eating which was so cool because some other girls came and we stuck together the whole time. Just sitting upstairs eating our lunch was pretty embarrassing because some teachers saw us with our subway and our burgers and asking us how our day has been even though our mouth was full. After roaming around the school after we’ve eaten it was time for us to head to English. I enjoyed English because the teacher we had was Mrs George who let us play kahoot which was fun and cool because I came 6th and that game just gave me some tips about english and some tips for my learning in literacy here at Pt England. Mrs George is cool because she told us to work but most of us were just talking including me but in the end we all got some work done. I like Mrs George because out of all the teachers she’s the one who talks to us the most and she is the most fun one and she also gave my group some tips about College like if we wear our uniform incorrectly or come late to class or wag class you get detention, and if you also talk back to the teacher and give them attitude then you get detention. Once our classes were over it was finally P.E time which was our fitness for the day. But anyway after all the classes I have been to they have all prepared me for College next year and to be good so I don’t end up in detention. I just wanted to thank Tamaki College for the best day and experience ever I enjoyed it so much and can’t wait for College next year

Tauhara Street

This week in literacy my literacy group has been working on this presentation which is about this boy and his mother who are very poor and they live in a car. In the end of the story one of the teachers from the boys school helped him and his mother out. I really like this story because it can encourage people to help out others in life and it can make a big difference in their life. In this presentation I have a lot of facts about the story. I hope you enjoy my presentation and please leave a comment below.

Talking points reflection

In literacy we are working on statements. The whole class was split into 2 groups so we could go around in a circle and give everyone in the group what we think about the statement. I enjoyed talking to my group because I had a lot of great ideas and they agreed with me and it was also funny because we had some people disagreeing with each other. This poster is all about the talk and how I felt and what it looked like.

Hiwi the Kiwi

Yesterday Pt England School got a visit from Hiwi the Kiwi. Hiwi the Kiwi came to visit Pt England School so we can learn how to look after our beautiful animals in New Zealand. They explained to us what have been happening in to our animals. Mr Minstrel heard about these beautiful birds and their species dieing because we have been littering a lot and the birds have been finding our rubbish and eating them thinking it's fish. Mr and Mrs Minstrel taught us how to catch the right fish and what kind of water or ice to put it in once you have caught it. They told us stories about how they went fishing and their cool adventures. I enjoyed listening to Mr and Mrs Minstrel because they have taught us to not only care about our beautiful animals of New Zealand but they taught us how to catch the right fish and if we do what they told us there would be more fish in the future for us to eat and to also look after our beaches.

Cross Country

On Friday it was Cross Country for Pt England School. I am a year 8 and this was my last year for Cross Country and of course I did my best in Cross Country. The year 8 girls went last for the run but that didn't stop us from having fun while running last. As soon as Mr Burt said 1, 2, 3 all I could hear was a bang and all of us girls ran as fast as we could but me on the other hand I was so tired I just wanted to stop but I had to try my best especially since it was my last year for Cross Country. Once my second lap was all most over I just needed to past the gate and sprint to the finish line. All I could hear was people cheering for me and the other girls I was running with which was Finau, May, Raewen, Marilyn & Jessica. My stitch just couldn't go away but that didn't stop me from beating the girls. As soon as we past the gate we all sprinted it and she ran past the park which was pretty sore because we were running on bark but anyway all I could see was the finish line and all I could think about is running towards it so I could finally stop. I was so happy because I was behind the girls but in the end I bet them. I felt so happy that it was finally over and I felt to happy that the parents and teachers encouraged me and the girls and the rest of the school to run and to try our best and I really liked the advice they gave us like be selfish with your running and support our mates but don't stop to chat with them.

How Our Muscles Work

Do you know how our muscles work?
If you don’t know how our muscles work or you want to learn about them, then keep reading and you’ll find out.

Everyone has more than 600 muscles in our bodies Yes more than 600. Muscles are so important for us people because it gives us strength and power and without muscles we would probably be dead and we wouldn’t be able to move at all. We all have 3 types of muscles which are called Cardiac, Skeletal muscles & Smooth muscles.

The Cardiac muscles, skeletal muscles & the smooth muscles have really important jobs so keep reading and I will tell you what they do. The Cardiac muscle is so important because it is the muscle for our heart and which our heart keep us alive.  The thick muscles of our heart is purposed to pump blood out and then relax to let the blood back in after it has been circulated through the body. Skeletal muscles are just as important as the Cardiac muscle because this muscle controls what we do like for example without this muscle we wouldn’t be able to walk, move our head, exercise and a lot more.

Last but not least Smooth muscles. Smooth muscles are found in our stomach, intestines, uterus, bladder and blood vessels.  Smooth muscles work on their own without us being aware of it. If we have finished eating the Smooth muscles help by moving the food through the digestive tract.

Muscles are really important to us people because it helps us survive life so I encourage you to take care of your body so that you can be nice and healthy in the future and I hope you take care of your body more often after reading this.

Silicone Valley Talk

This morning team 5 got a visit from  Saia and Gabe. They are students from Tamaki College who came to visit us to talk about their journey from America. They had an opportunity to go to America to experience company's like Google, Faceook, Twitter, Stanford and they also had a tour in this prison. Saia and Gabe have really inspired us students to do our best in school to have a great future and to experience what they have in 3 or 4 years time just like them

BFG

On Wednesday the 10th of August Rm 1 literacy class went to the cinemas in Sylvia park to watch the new realest movie called BFG. The teacher of Rm 1 Mr Wiseman decided to take his literacy class to watch the BFG because his class has been working so hard in literacy and he also let other hard working people in other classes to join him. I really enjoyed watching the BFG because it was a really interesting movie. What I liked about the movie was how there was a happily ever after for the girl because she got adopted from the Queen and before that she was just a normal orphan girl before he adventure began. I also liked how one of the giants called BFG stood up for himself and in the end he had a great life and he was free and as for the other giants they got trapped in an island and couldn't escape because there was water everywhere and they were terrified of water. In the end everyone had a happily ever after but not for the bad giants.

Writing about how the Olympics came to be

Introduction - What are the Olympics? What are you going to explain?
What are the Olympics? What do you do at the Olympics? When Did it start? If you don’t know what the Olympics are keep reading and you’ll find out.

Info - Paragraph one - What is the main piece of information about how the  Olympics began? The first ever Olympic games started in April the 6th 1896. In 1896 married women were banned from watching or participating in the Olympics, but unmarried women were allowed to attend the competition. I think that women were not allowed to compete in the Olympics because they had their own games which was called the Hera games. The Hera games started in the 6th century where they competed dressed. I also think that because the men were pretty much naked as they were participating in the Olympics, it would have been uncomfortable for the women to participate in the Olympics while they were naked or half naked like the men.

Info - Paragraph two - What is a second piece of info about the starting of the Olympics? 4 years later after the Olympics started, women were finally allowed to compete in the Olympics which took place in Paris France . That year was the ever year women were allowed to compete in the Olympics but only 22 women competed with a total of 997 athletes. The 22 women that competed participated in 5 sports which was Tennis, Sailing, Croquet, Equestrianism and Golf.

Info - Paragraph three - What is the third piece of info about the starting of the Olympics? Do you know who Dimitrios Loundras is?
Dimitrios Loundras was confirmed that he was the youngest Olympic medalist who competed in the 1896 Athens Olympics. He was only 10 years old when he received a bronze medal in a team event on April the 9th 1896. But if you discount the young coxain who won gold in 1900 Dimitrios Loundras was still confirmed to compete in the Olympics.

Conclusion - The conclusion sums up all the ideas and repeats a key message to end.  This could be a recommendation or a personal connection. If you didn’t know there is an Olympics in Rio this year ( 2016 ) I think the Olympic games are a great sporting event because it’s great that once in every 4 years the Olympics is held somewhere and we get to learn about the different countries and how good they are are sports and that encourages people to be nice and fit as they grow up.

Winter Learning Journey Weekly Activities

Hey Bloggers, as you can see I am doing a blog post in the school holidays and if you are wondering why am I doing a blog post in the school holidays instead of playing out side or watching t.v like a normal kid would do in the holidays then keep reading and I will tell you all about it. I am participating in this holiday blogging called Winter Learning Journey.

Question: Do you think women were not allowed to watch or compete in the Olympic games a fair rule or not? If so then why?

My Opinion Answer: I think this rule was made because men think that women are useless and that us girls could get hurt easily so they just wanna protect us from getting hurt. My personal opinion is that I think this rule was never made because I think that us girls can do what ever we want and that we have the exact same rights as the men. I also think that it's not a fair rule because girls could learn more like how men do but I am so glad that rule does not exist anymore because this kind of fitness help girls not just men.

Winter Learning Journey Activity 2

Hello, if you don't already know I am a blog post about Milo of Kroton because I am participating in the winter learning journey. If you don't know what Winter Learning Journey is it's for kids who have nothing to do in the holidays and this is for us kids to blog about these different activity's. Right now I am doing activity 2 and I have to right 3 interesting facts about Milo of Kroton.

Milo of Kroton was born over 2,00 years ago in ancient Greek colony of southern Italy, he won the Olympic wrestling championship six times between 540 BCE and 516 BCE. His strength is so great that once, when a building collapsed he supported the roof while his friends escaped safe and unharmed.

The story of how Milo got his strenth has been told for over 2,00 years. His farther gave him a bull calf for his son to raise each day his farther would ask Milo "How big is your bull today?" and Milo would run outside pick up the calf and carried it inside to show his farther. They would have that same routine everyday as the bull grew older and so did Milo's strength.

Milo has also won seven crowns at the Pythian ganes at Delphi ( one as a boy ), ten at the isthmian games, and nine at the Nemean games.

These are all the information I have about Milo of Kroton I hope you find something interesting about this I hope you enjoy the rest of your day and I will have more blog posts coming up to keep coming to my blog for more interesting facts about different things.

Winter Learning Journey

Hi there, if you are wondering what Winter Learning Journey is well keep reading and I will tell you all about it. Well Winter Learning Journey is this website for kids to post things on their blog about these activities on the site. If you want to give Winter Learning Journey a go then click this link right here Winter Learning Journey. Activity 1 is all about competing in the Olympics game. The question I have to answer is if I was alive 2792 years ago what event would I chose to join between running, wrestling, boxing, pankration, horse racing, or pentathlon. If I was alive 2792 years ago, and I had to participate in a sport then I would chose boxing because it is such an interesting sport and it's a good way to get all your anger out. I also would like to participate in boxing because it's a good way to get fit and get prepared if something bad happens to you.

Netball

On Tuesday the 7th of June it was a warm but breezy day and my netball team Flavaz had a netball game against Parnell. There was no school on  Tuesday for Pt England school because it was teacher only day but us netball girls still had training and our netball games. As I got to school late for training I could see everyone training and some other girls getting changed into their uniforms. I was late because I had to go to the hospital because my older sister got injured from rugby. I ran straight to my coach Ms Eddie to apologize for being late and to get my uniform on to start my netball training session. Once I finished putting my uniform on along with some other girls we finally started our training. One of our shooters weren’t here because she was sick but luckily we had a backup shooter which was liz and the other shooter was Ashley. While the other girls and I train Liz and Ashley practise shooting. Once our training was over we played a half court game of netball so see how good our shooters were and it turns out they were pretty good. Time went by and off we were to the netball courts feeling nervous but excited and the same time.

Once the clock hit 4:15 it was time for our game to start and just by looking at the height of the other team my netball team started to give up already. On the first quarter of our game the other team had the ball and they only had 3 to 4 passes and the ball went straight in the goal but because I was GK I felt like I was letting my team down because I didn’t stop the ball from getting in the hoop. The first quarter was over and so far the other team was winning but after having a group huddle Ms Eddie gave us a pep talk and tried to make us work as a team by communicating like the other team and to do our best. Our break time was over and off we were to our passions. Our team started to improve with our passing and our catching and we started to work and play as a team again. Everytime the ball comes to my partner I tried my very best to jump and pass or through the ball as far away from the hoop as I can.  Once the last 2 quarters were over we lost our netball game but I felt proud of my team for working together and trying our best. After our game of netball us girls walked to the bathroom so exhausted and once I finished getting change Ms Eddie told me that I got player of the day because of my awesome defending skills and I felt so proud of myself and I felt proud of the rest of my team as well.

Revolution Tour

Hi guys, I have another post for you and this time it's about the Revolution Tour who came to our school last week on Thursday. The Revolution Tour came to the hall so they could talk to us about things. As my class walked into the hall a guy named Reggie walked on the stage and introduced us to him and the other people. Reggie introduced us to this girl who came up and sang Let it go for us. After her performance was over Reggie started talking to us and he taught us some american moves and some things that american people say like alright Alright Alright. After a few more performances Reggie told us a sad story about his childhood. He told us that his mother gave him up and took him to an orphanage but he has 2 sister and  brother but his mother kept the others but gave him up and it made some people cry but then again he turned our frown up side down and made us laugh again. Reggie played a song and told everyone to stand up and do the running man challenge but some people stayed sitting cause they didn't know how to do it or they were crying and thinking about Reggie's story. Once it was over everyone went back to class to get ready to go back home.

I Luminate Brainstorm

Hi guys, I'm doing a blog post about the I Luminate people who came to our school to perform us a dance. As my class walked into the hall it was so dark u couldn't even see anything which was good because I Luminate people came up on the stage dancing and we didn't even notice all we saw was a light which was their costume. Their costumes had lights on it which was so cool. The I Luminate people were so good at dancing everyone kept cheering for them which gave them more energy to dance. Thank you for reading this please leave a comment if you have any questions or if you just want to say something.

Yr 8 Leadership Camp!!!

As my partner Ashley and I hopped on to the bus we were so excited but we just tried to keep it cool. As everyone on the little bus waited for the teachers to take a seat we were finally off to camp. It was such a long ride to camp some people fell asleep. Uli was sitting across from me and I told the girls in the front to give me the camera to take a photo of him and once I had finished taking that photo he had woken up and everyone tried not to laugh but we all tried to act natural before he notices we took a photo of him. Another hour went by and Mrs Tele’a fell asleep right in front of me and I tried to take a photo of her with the camera but before I even pressed that button she had woken up like she knew we were gonna take a photo of her but luckily for me I was sitting behind her so she didn’t see me and I didn’t get in trouble.

Finally the last hour had went passed and we were finally at Marden point. As everyone hopped off the bus so excitedly we grabbed all the bags from the bus and put them on the deck. We also had to sit on the deck as well so Mrs Tele’a can have a quick talk with us and then she introduced us to Michael and Venetia who are the owners of the camp. Michael decided to show us around and the first place he showed us was the archery but as we got there it started pouring with rain. All of us ran as fast as we could to the hall and on our way there we picked up all the bags and chucked them in the hall before they get wet. We had another talk with Mrs Tele’a in the hall  then she told us to get our morning tea. After everyone ate up we went into the lounge to play some amazing activities. The first activity we played was that we had to blindfold the whole team but not the team leaders because the team leaders had to guide them through the obstacle course. I was the team leader for one tree point A and I found it really hard because I had to go back and forth to make sure my team doesn’t get out of line and to make sure they don’t hit anything. Later on that day we played more activities and one of the hard activity’s we did was that we had to tie our hands together and make fruit kebabs.  Before everyone went to sleep we had a choice to watch a movie or stay in the cabban and stayed in the cabban with some other girls and all we did was eat lollies which was fun.

The next day We finally got to do our activity’s. First we had breakfast then we had to go to the lounge to get the list of what activities we were going to do. First up was archery it and it was so much fun because we just kept on laughing at people who missed the target. Next up it was Fire pit and we did this with Ms Flavelle and we got to make cookies it was really fun and we got to do it by our selves.

Our next activity was FLYING FOX! The flying fox was so fun and I was so excited to go on it but once I climbed all those stares it was so scary but once I jumped off it was so much fun I just kept going on over and over again. And our last final activity was the WATER SLIDE!!! The water slide was so much fun I can't even explain how fun it was. Later on that day it was pasifika night and it was so much fun seeing everyone dance and just enjoying themselves I really enjoyed hanging out with you year 8's and I hope we can do it again some day.

Thank you so much teachers and parent's for coming

along it was so fun and I hope we can do something

like this again !!!!

Immersion Assembly

Hello, today is the 2nd of March which means it's the first day of school. The first thing the school did in the morning was that we had to go to the hall and have our school immersion assembly. As my class room sat down we saw all the teachers wearing different cool costumes for our immersion assembly. Mrs Nua was the first person to come up and tell us what's going and she also told us that our new topic is As I see it. Mrs Nua also told us that Mr Burt and Mrs Burt couldn't make it because they are on the waka Hine Moana and travelled to France in Paris.

Mrs Nua asked Team 1 to come up and they had a movie to show us and it was about what their favourite thing is. Ms George made a film of what her favourite thing is and along with the other teachers and once the film was over Ms George asked us questions about the film to see if we were paying attention.

Next up is Team 2 and they also had a film to show us which was about seasons. What I enjoyed about their film was that they had a lot to show us about seasons like what they would do in Winter, Autumn, Summer and Spring.

Up next is Team 3 and their movie was about working together as they build their tent. I liked how they worked together as a team and because they worked together they managed to finish building that tent together.

Second to last was Team 4 and they movie was so cool because each teacher were superhero's and they had to defeat the evil teddy bear. Mrs Moala and Miss West thought they could defeat the evil teddy bear but they failed the teddy bear won. As Mrs Moala and Miss West were trapped Mr Somerville, Miss Lavakula and Mr Goodwin were there to save them. In the end the teddy bear died and the superhero's won and so team 4 are learning about superhero's

And Last but no least Team 5 was next but this time they had no movie they did a performance for us but it was a race. It was a waka race and Ms Garden was green Hokule'a, Mrs Tele'a was Blue Hinemoana, Miss Berry was red Te Aurere and Miss Sadler was yellow Hikianlia. Miss Clark yelled 3,2,1 go and the waka's were racing Miss Berry and Miss Sadler were losing by miles but Ms Garden and Mrs Tele'a were going so fast but there was only one winner which was Ms Garden.

A.I.M Talk

This morning the year 7 & 8 block had a very special visit from Andrew Patterson and his 2 other guest's Kenese and Arizona. Kenese and Arizona came to talk to us about A.I.M which stands for Aspiration, Inspiration and Motivation.

Arizona was the first speaker to come up and she was inspiring many of us because she had a normal life getting raised in New Zealand and just because she was achieving more and more everyday she got a opportunity to work at Disney world for a few months. Arizona told us that all of this happened to her because she dreamed big she achieved more and she had Aspiration, Inspiration and Motivation.

The next speaker was Kenese and he also inspired us as well. Kenese was raised in Samoa and he moved to New Zealand. He lost 2 important people in his life he lost his twin brother and his farther. To me Kenese inspired me that even though he grew up with less people in his life you can still get up carry on and achieve more. Kenese encouraged me to be myself and be grateful and to achieve by working hard everyday.

I just wanted to say thank you to Andrew Patterson for bringing Kenese and Arizona this morning because I have never been this inspired so thank you again I have learned so much from Kenese and Arizona.

Fiafia

It was Fiafia on Thursday night ( 7th April ) and it was the best night I have ever had at school. I really liked the idea of Fiafia night because the performances represent our cultures and we got a chance to show our family, friends and our community what we have learnt for the past few weeks. I had so much fun performing on stage and showing everyone what I have learnt. I was in Kapa Haka and the reason why I joined Kapa Haka was because I wanted to try something different instead of just joining the group of your culture. I was so excited to perform and also kind of nervous because my whole family was there to watch. Once my performance was finished the MC's announced the next group to go and perform and all I did when I was watching and waiting I tried my best to cheer and support that group.

Once the MC's announced the senior Samoan group to go up and perform I was so excited for their performance because they were one of my favourites. As the music started they were on fire and like I said I was cheering and supporting them as they were dancing. In the middle of the Samoan performance I was cheering hard out for Raewen-Eve and Rowana and as I was cheering I saw their dad Moses Tui go up to the donation box with tears on his face. I felt sorry for the Tui family as they went up to the donation box because I saw some tears in their eyes and that's when I knew some of them were crying because a very special lady in their family had past away earlier this year and this very special lady was Raewen-Eve and Rowana's mum Priscilla, but I know that Pricsilla is still watching them from above even if she is not here to watch them in person.

As the MC's went up on stage again it was the Tongan boys. As the Tongan boys went on stage I had already started cheering hard out before everyone else. The Tongan boys were also one of my favourite's because they were not embarrassed to show everyone what they've got and that's what I really liked about their performance. I liked all the performances because everyone worked and performed as a team and no-one was left out.

Fiafia

Hello, Today in literacy we had Miss Muliaumasealii and she taught us some good meanings about Fiafia. Fiafia is about partnership, Confidence, Representing your culture, and Strength and Power. Fiafia helps you gain power and confidence to perform your culture on the stage. It's about you learning and representing about your culture and showing off while your on stage.

Drake and Josh's Adventure

    Drake & Josh’s adventure!
It was a beautiful sunny day in New Zealand and these 2 brothers named Drake & Josh watch T.V all day long. They didn’t care about how hot they were and they didn’t even bother to share with anyone. Drake & Josh are really selfish but they are really fit even though they watch t.v all day and eat. Drake & Josh aren’t close brothers so that’s when their mother decided to take them out somewhere so they can get along and so she can watch t.v. Drake & Josh’s mother took them canoeing because their not good at it and so they can be gone for a long time. Once they got in the canoe their mother ran away so they don’t have to come back home and take the t.v. Drake & Josh was struggling to paddle so they turned around to ask their mum if they can go back home but they just noticed that she left. Drake & Josh didn’t have a choice because they were staying inside the house for too long and they forgot how to get home so they got in the canoe and started paddling because it would have been a waste of time leaving.

Drake & Josh randomly jumped in a random canoe and didn’t notice there was a whole in it so they just keep paddling far far away and that’s when they finally noticed they were sinking. They couldn’t turn their canoe so they just keep paddling straight and saw to other canoes and headed straight to it. Drake & Josh were striking more and more but luckily they can swim so they swam to the other 2 canoes. The canoes they swam up to were empty so they just helped themselves and tried to turn the canoe to the way back to land. Drake & Josh were trying their best to paddle their canoes but they were too long so they just shared 1 canoe and they worked together as a team and the canoe was finally heading towards land. Finally Drake & Josh finally made it back home and they finally learned how to work together as a team and they decided to do stuff more together often and explore the world instead of exploring the T.V and exploring laziness.           THE END

Recrafting story

Problem:
As I sat on the dock, I could feel something tugging on my line. Every now and then my line felt like it was attached to something really heavy under water so I tried my best to pull it out but that didn’t work. All of a sudden I pulled my line out water and I didn’t catch any fish. It was really mysterious because I thought I would of caught a fish but there was nothing on my hook. I decided to move to a new spot because I thought something really dangerous was about to attack me.

Solution:
But luckily for me as I was moving to a new spot I finally caught a huge massive fish. As I was killing the fish I left to go home so I could cook the fish to eat. But all of a sudden I was feeling kind of worried but I don’t know why so I went for a walk to the dock that I was on before to see if anyone was there.

Welcome to room 5 the best classroom!!!

Hi my name is Koula and I am in the amazing and best class room ever room 5. My classroom is the best class room ever is because Mrs Ilaoa is our teacher and she is way better then the other teachers. The reason why I like my class is because us students of room 5 have been so helpful and amazing and like I keep saying it's the best class cause we have the best teacher.  So far 2016 has been the best year ever all ready because I am finally a year 8 and I get to spend 1 last year with everyone before I leave to go off to college. So far being a year 8 is not so bad and this has been the best 2 weeks of school so far. What I am looking forward to this year is year 8 leadership camp and spending time with everyone before I go off to college and trying my best in everything. I am also looking forward to Fiafia night because it's my first and last time going and performing at Fiafia night. What I am not looking forward to this year is leaving Pt England school and I'm not looking forward to getting in trouble this year.

2016 Reflection

Have you ever been in team 5 before… Well if you haven’t I will tell you so much about team 5. Being a year 7 & 8 is a really hard job but it’s fun as well just not when you get in trouble. But the best thing about being a year 7 & 8 is that you get to go on so many trips and we get to sit on the chair during assembly. Being a year 7 & 8 means  you have to be responsible for things you do and you have to show leadership to younger students by sitting up during assembly or during class time you have show them how to wear the right uniform and show them how we do the right thing at the right time with the right attitude.

What I am looking forward to this year is to show leadership throughout the whole year and I am also looking forward to spending time with the year 8’s at year 8 leadership camp. What I am looking forward to accomplishing this year is everything because last year I didn’t really listen to the teacher that much so I didn’t learn that much but I am a year 8 now so I want to learn lots and to be prepared for college next year. My goal this year is to get a good report by doing my best in everything and my other goal is to show leadership while I am still a year 8.
